An excellent analysis of the current unfair system where banks get 2.4% interest for parking our money – while we only get a paltry 0.4%.
This is quite wrong. It shows how the government and the Fed are favouring the big banks.
However, many good, fairer solutions are being put forward and as well as public banks the post offices could offer basic banking facilities in all communities – except that here in the UK the post offices have been closing at an unprecedented rate.
Local monetary systems could be the answer.
