Schools forced to act as ‘miniature welfare states’ with teachers buying underwear and even haircuts for poor pupils. The Independent.

£43m being spent by schools for children suffering the harsh effects of austerity.

There is a comment by someone who was a welfare rights advisor for 20 years who, in all that time, never had to hand out a food bank voucher says it is now a daily occurrence.

Now 1 million families are on them.

This, in the 21st century in the 6th largest economy in the world.

The poor get poorer while the rich have doubled their money in the 5 years of this coalition.

Shame on the tories and their little yellow helpers.
